What is Liposculpture?
Liposculpture or Liposculpting is a very effective procedure designed to remove unwanted localised fat deposits. Patients seek liposculpture in order to develop a more proportioned and harmonious figure and to look better in certain types of clothes. This is particularly popular among women who want to get back in shape after pregnancy.
Surgery
Through tiny incisions, the surgeon first injects anaesthetic fluid into the fat. He then uses a fine cannula to suck out the fat. The operation is usually performed under local anaesthesia with sedation.
It takes between sixty minutes to three hours depending on the amount of fat to be removed and most patients go home the same day. Larger cases remain in hospital for one or two nights.

Later Progress
If your work is not physical, expect to return to work within one week and you can expect to be back to normal physical exercise within four to six weeks. The treated areas are likely to be swollen. You will have to wear tight support garments for several weeks. Most patients are able to fully resume normal activity within three to four weeks. Sutures may not be required, but if any, will be removed after ten to fourteen days. As with all scars, these will fade over a period of time. In many patients, they heal to form very faint white lines.
